What Sets Avian Suites Apart from Other Boarding Facilities?

Knowledgeable, Highly Trained StaffThe staff at Avian Suites are not your typical pet sitters.  Every Avian Care Specialist has received specialty training in the areas of avian husbandry, behavior, and nutrition.  Each Avian Care Specialist has gone through an intensive hands-on training process (including completing online training offered by the American Federation of Aviculture) and is considered a Level II Aviculturist and is comfortable working with companion birds of all species.  We are always more than happy to assist clients with any questions that they may have regarding companion bird care.

Accommodations and Free Time:  At Avian Suites we provide individual suites for our feathered guests.  Each bird, or household of birds, is housed in one of our seventeen suites.  We even have an extra-large suite to accommodate larger flocks.  We provide private rooms to ensure the safety of our boarders and to decrease the risk of disease transmission.  At no other facility will your bird(s) have all day out of cage time with no worry of harm from other boarding birds.  Birds in the same household are only out one at a time to avoid any conflict between birds.

Quality Social Interaction:  Unlike having a pet sitter or a neighbor feed and clean up after your bird(s), someone is at Avian Suites with our feathered guests at least eight hours a day.  We spend individual time with all the birds that stay with us and are in and out of the rooms throughout the day.  We take pride in learning each bird’s personality and their favorite games, toys, and treats.  Even when we’re not in the rooms, we are constantly talking and whistling with the birds and providing them with ambient attention.  The window of each room allows us to constantly check on each bird.  While each household of birds is safely in their own room, they love hearing and talking to one another.

Fresh Breakfast:  Every morning we serve our feathered guests a fresh breakfast of various organic vegetables and grains.  Our house mix of fresh food is made on site and chopped extremely fine so that birds of all sizes can enjoy it.  Each batch we make varies slightly from the last as we try out different grains and organic vegetables.  Sometimes even birds who usually will not eat fresh food at home will give the food a try.  If your bird(s) end up loving our fresh breakfast, we are happy to provide you with the recipe!

Report Cards:  Even though you will be away from your feathered companion, you will still be up to date on their activities with our daily emailed report cards. Clients whose birds stay with us for their first stay take a large amount of comfort in getting updated on how their bird is settling in.  Long time clients get a kick out of their bird’s latest antics.  Want to comment on anything we write in the report cards?  Simply have a question about something we have written? Want us to relay a message to your bird?  Reply, away!  We love keeping clients updated.

Other Services:  The health and well-being of each bird is very important to us at Avian Suites.  Because of this we weigh all boarders.  If your bird isn’t step up trained or uneasy with the scale, at the owner’s discretion, we are more than willing to work with them.  We provide showers and baths as a regular part of the routine at Avian Suites. We employ hand held misters to shower birds from above simulating gentle rainfall.  Many of our birds love their showers and we accommodate them with daily showers, but if birds don’t feel comfortable receiving a shower, we never push them.  We even have a hair dryer if your bird loves a good blow dry!
